Look
When checking power outlets we look at the controls to make sure it’s off and this is the only thing we look at for rest of system.
Lock
We’ll use the image of ice since the power outlet is electrical. Ice tells us it’s cold, so if it’s cold it must be off.
Label
Next, we imagine a power outlet cover being glued to our thigh (or whichever body part we choose to label too.) While still looking at the real outlet on the wall we imagine a bag of ice covering the outlet on our thigh. Then we visualize cellophane wrapping around the bag of ice securing it in place. We can feel the tightness on the cellophane and the coldness of the ice.
Leave
We are all finished now. We can stop looking at the real outlet and continue on with our day. Should we worry that we’ve accidentally left that power outlet on all we have to do is remember that frozen outlet on our thigh.
